Sports nutritionist who works with Indian lifters and runners. Has strong opinions on what “protein-rich” means in a vegetarian household and why most of those opinions are wrong.
“Most Indian vegetarians are not getting close to the protein their training is asking for. We don't fix that with one product.”
Aanya did her MSc Nutrition at Osmania University and a PhD in Sports Nutrition at the University of Stirling. She has consulted for two state athletic federations and runs an outpatient clinic in Hyderabad.
Her work at Atlas covers the nutritional-adequacy sub-score and the dietary inputs to the protocol-builder's recommendations. The vegetarian / vegan / Jain branches in the protocol owe a lot to her work.
She is also one of the calmest critics of Indian fitness culture you will read — long Twitter threads on creatine, dal-protein density, and South Indian breakfast carbs.
